Why do detailers dry off cars? Doesn't the water dry off naturally?

Yes and no, as we know Creston has some beautifully sunny days all year long, and the water the water will dry off naturally of course. But the water droplets in the sun can actually act as a magnifying glass of sorts and create hot spots which can dilute the color of the paint. Not only that but the chemicals in the soaps and waxes can etch themselves into the paint and leave a coarse finish, which is not nice to see, I've heard horror stories of $150,000 classic cars having their paint jobs damaged from this and its heartbreaking, its usually fixable through polishing, but that becomes a whole other kettle and dish that shouldn't be necessary if the car is dried off correctly after being washed.
